Hyde Property Services moves to deliver just-in-time services

Hyde Property Services (HPS), the Hyde Group’s own direct labour organisation, has completed its move to a new office and materials supply hub in Havant that will help it deliver resident services faster and more efficiently than ever before.

Hyde Group Chief Executive, Elaine Bailey, officially opened the new offices on 2 March 2016. She said: “Co-locating with our building materials supplier Buildbase is part of our new ‘just-in-time’ approach to delivering improved services to our residents.

“Response times will improve because vans will be re-stocked with materials when they need them, rather than our workforce having to drive to a builders’ merchants. Any materials not normally kept in our vans will be delivered to site ‘just-in-time’, ready for the teams when they are required, speeding up work.”

Buildbase Managing Director Kate Tinsley said: “Co-locating with Hyde will strengthen our partnership and, importantly, enable us to respond more quickly. In turn this will help support Hyde’s drive to improve resident services, which we understand is absolutely critical to our collective success.”

This is just one of a number of improvements being introduced by HPS in the next few months, added HPS Managing Director Paul Woodham.

“Our new contractor management system will allow us to assign and track work more accurately, so we can fix more issues the first time we visit, and we have also invested heavily in mobile technology, allowing us to communicate more easily with site staff, further improving efficiency,” he said.
