Celebration event inspires more than 130 young women to succeed in sport

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2016 Hyde Plus partners, Jason Roberts Foundation, ran an event at Wembley's Ark Academy to encourage young women from the London Borough of Brent to take part in sport.

Former Premiership footballer Jason Roberts was at the event, which was funded by Hyde, Sport England and Comic Relief. 

As well as providing taster sessions in athletics, football, golf, basketball and boxing, inspirational speeches were given by Shelley Alexander, Editorial lead on Women’s Sport for BBC, Jo Tongue, CEO of Tongue Tied Media, Lorna Falconer, Logistics Manager for Brentford FC, Sonia Meggie, Entrepreneur and Diversity Adviser and Chelsea and England footballer, Eni Aluko. 

Carol Carter, Group Director of Housing at The Hyde Group said:
