Mike Kirk appointed as Chair Elect of our Group Board

Posted on 26 April 2021

Mike Kirk has been appointed as the Chair Elect of the Hyde Group and will be taking up his new position as Chair of the Group Board in the Autumn when Alan Collett steps down, having completed his maximum term. Mike’s appointment as Chair Elect came into effect on Wednesday 7 April.

Mike, who has been the Chair of the Board at Vivid since 2017, has extensive experience in both executive and non-executive roles. He’s provided invaluable services and support for organisations such as Portsmouth Water and Quadrise Fuels International plc, and with a career background in engineering, investment banking, PR and communications, he’ll bring his commercial expertise to Hyde.

Speaking on his new appointment Mike said: “I am honoured and excited to be joining Hyde as Chair elect. It’s an influential and progressive housing association with a rich history.

“Hyde has ambitious plans to accelerate its ability to deliver its vision of “a great home for everyone" and I look forward to working with our residents, my board colleagues and the entire team at Hyde to enable this."

Mike will play a vital role alongside his new board members in working to reach the ambitions and objectives set out in our 2050 Strategic Plan.

Chair of the Remuneration and Appointments Committee, Elsie Akinsanya commented: "We are delighted that Mike will be joining Hyde as Chair of the Board at a time when the focus is on sustainability and enhancing social value. Mike’s valuable experience positions him well to steer Hyde in its journey to provide affordable homes. We would also like to thank our departing Chair, Alan Collett for his exceptional guidance and governance over the past three years.”
