Posted on 31 January 2019

Congratulations to Chyrel Brown, Director of Resident Services, who recently completed Leadership 2025, an intensive nine-month leadership development programme.

Leadership 2025, which is available exclusively to professionals from Black and Minority Ethnicity (BME) backgrounds working in the housing sector, aims to support and empower participants to become sector leaders of the future. It is supported by the Mayor of London and sponsored by social housing providers L&Q and Optivo, plus BME London, in partnership with training and development provider Roffey Park.

Chyrel said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to complete the certificate. Diversity is such an important issue and I’m proud to work for an organisation that has supported me to be one of the first participants in this programme.”

The Leadership 2025 steering group said: “Well done cohort one, this is a major success. It is a real achievement and you should feel very proud.”

Chyrel was also nominated as one of Inside Housing’s BME Leaders 2018 Ones to watch.

Chyrel is a talented leader with an abundance of housing experience gained within a number of varied disciplines,” said one of the BME leaders. “She’s a highly articulate communicator, gifted in relationship management, with a track record of finding innovative ways to deliver strategic objectives.
