On 26 January 2018, Leader of Harrow Council, Councillor Sachin Shah, took part in the ceremonial topping out of the Hartley Apartments at Harrow Square, a new development by Barratt London and the Hyde Group, situated in Harrow town centre.
Councillor Shah was joined at the topping out ceremony by colleagues at Harrow Council and representatives from Barratt London and the Hyde Group, who presented him with a ceremonial trowel to mark the occasion.
Leader of Harrow Council, Councillor Sachin Shah, said: “I am pleased to see the progress of the building work at Harrow Square, with 318 homes available from this summer. I’m determined that our residents feel the benefits of regeneration. We have been working with our partners from Barratt London and the Hyde Group to ensure that Harrow residents get priority in accessing these properties. We’re building a better Harrow, and there are lots of exciting plans in place to make Harrow a great place to live and work.”
Stephen Day, Managing Director of Barratt West London, said: “It has been a pleasure to celebrate this key milestone with our friends from Harrow Council and partners at the Hyde Group. Harrow Square will deliver great benefits, not just to those who live within the development, but to everyone in the Borough, who can enjoy a new public library and the many public events which can be held in the public plaza.”
Tom Shaw, Operations Director at the Hyde Group, said: “Hyde is delighted to be building much-needed new homes here in Harrow and helping create a great new home for everyone. This is an important milestone for the project and we were delighted to be able to share it with our partners.”
Hartley apartments is set to be completed in the summer, making it the first building to be completed at Harrow Square. In total the scheme will deliver 318 new homes, together with a new library and a public plaza which could hold future events and food markets.
