Hyde has been appointed to the Greater London Authority's (GLA) new £20bn developer framework panel to deliver residential-led projects across London.
The four year framework is expected to play an important role in accelerating delivery of the homes that London desperately needs. The Mayor’s draft London plan sets out to significantly increase the supply of housing in the capital including capacity for 65,000 new homes a year. The release of surplus, publicly-owned land for residential development through this panel has a key role to play in meeting these targets.
Group Chief Executive, Elaine Bailey said: “As a leading housing association committed to building new affordable homes in London, I am delighted that we have been selected as a partner by the GLA for the London Development Panel. We expect the framework to accelerate the delivery of public sector sites for development. By working in partnership with the GLA and the wider public sector through the Mayor’s new land framework, we hope to be able to speed up the process of building new homes for Londoners and we look forward to securing our first site.”
We already have a strategic partnership with the GLA through which we have committed funding to start building thousands of affordable homes in the capital before March 2021.
This appointment follows our strategic acquisition in May 2018 of a 10 acre site at Charlton Riverside where we are planning a major mixed-use development to provide new homes and jobs alongside new infrastructure and public realm improvements.
