We are seeking detailed planning permission for up to 600 homes, with 237 of them being affordable. Outline permission was granted in 2014 for the development by Swale Borough Council.
There is a real need for housing locally - Swale Borough Council have a housing target of approximately 7,500 new homes by 2038 and our development will help achieve this.
We will be marketing the homes locally and they will be available for private sale, shared ownership and affordable rent in order to meet local need. We have already received a number of enquiries from local residents interested in buying homes and we expect the high level of interest to continue.
The estate management of Stones Farm will benefit from Hyde’s comprehensive housing management service offer and 50 years of housing management experience. As a social business, we invest our profits to build more affordable homes.
Investing in the local community
As part of the development, over £3.5 million will be set aside for improvements to local schools, play areas, youth services, local infrastructure, adult social care and library services.
The development will create 270 local jobs through the building programme and apprenticeships. Overall it is a multi-million boost to the local economy.
