We are partnering with CALA Homes, through a Section 106, to provide 119 homes over the next four years at the Shopwyke Lakes development, Chichester.
The site is located close to the City of Chichester, and benefits from a picturesque setting, in close proximity to the city centre. The area is very popular with commuters as it is close to both the A27 and also to the mainline station.
The scheme is on a previously undeveloped lake site boasting a wealth of ecological features which will be maintained and enhanced for the benefit of the completed development. The development offers an environment with green open spaces, footpaths and waterways. The proposed facilities will include access to football and cricket pitches, a clubhouse, community centre, children’s play areas and a convenience store. New pedestrian and cycle routes are also included in the proposals, with a bridge over the A27 to ensure safe and easy access to the city centre. The project should see the delivery of a sustainable and desirable neighbourhood to live in.
We will be producing a total of 119 properties across three phases; the final phase completing at the end of March 2021. Of the 119 new family homes, 57 are for affordable rent and 62 for shared ownership, all being a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom homes.
Phase 1a completed in December 2017. Phase 1b is now underway with the first 5 units in this phase handing over in May 2018; the rest of phase 1b will be complete by October 2018. Phase 2 is due to commence in November 2018.
