Kingston Wharf is located to the east of Shoreham-by-Sea, adjoining the river Adur. The site forms part of the Joint Area Action Plan to transform the Western Harbour arm into a thriving waterfront destination with a range of mixed-use sustainable developments.
The site has achieved planning permission for 255 homes arranged in three U-shaped blocks, all oriented south to maximise sunlight and daylight and with expansive views of the river and sea. The development provides four communal gardens for the residents with play spaces and seating facing the river. The scheme also includes a new landscaped riverside walk and cycleway, safeguarded space for a new segregated cycleway on the Brighton Road, and new flood defence infrastructure which will eventually benefit the wider area. The adjoining commercial site, which will be delivered by our partner Easistore, will include a new Enterprise Centre consisting of self-storage space, offices, a café and a gym.
The homes are all planned to be affordable, consisting of a mix of social rent and shared ownership, and will be delivered with the benefit of grant funding from our strategic partnership with Homes England. Construction is planned to start in Autumn 2021, with the first homes expected to complete in Spring 2024.
