New Hampshire Residents Panel Officers elected!

HRP Logo

The Hampshire Residents Panel held its AGM on 19 April 2011 and it was all change when it came to Officer nominations.  For 2011/12 the following Officers were elected:

Jackie Puddifoot- Chair
Pauline Eames- Vice Chair
Edris Miller- Secretary
Anne Corbin- Treasurer

Former Chair, Lee Robinson, stepped down after several years of leading the panel.  Lee stated that he has had "some fantastic years but can no longer commit the time to be Panel Chair".  Lee will continue to be a panel member but will now concentrate on his roles as Chair of the Hyde Wide Residents Voice (HRV) and a member of the Hyde Group Board.

Jackie Puddifoot, who was formerly Vice Chair, told panel members that she is "100% committed to resident involvement and is looking forward to taking on more responsibility."

Pauline Eames has been a panel member for several years and was Treasurer last year.  Pauline stated prior to the elections that she was “looking for a more challenging role”.

Edris Miller is new to an Officer role and is “looking forward to being Panel Secretary”.  Edris, who also sits on the Cultural Diversity Group, is blind and has the latest computer software in order for her to fulfil her secretarial duties.

Anne Corbin who is new to the role of Treasurer says “I’m glad I’ve been selected and am looking forward to being more pro-active in the panel.”

“I am very pleased to see that panel members are working their way up the involvement ladder stepping up to roles that they once saw as impossible for them to do.  It shows that the training, support and encouragement given to involved residents really does work” states Anne-Marie Tyer, Resident Involvement Co-ordinator.

If you would like to find out more about your local Residents Panel or other ways to get involved with influencing Hyde services please contact your Resident Involvement Co-ordinator.

Local Offer launched

Local Offer launched

The Local Offer is a different approach to how housing organisations are accountable to their residents. It is less about telling people what to do, and more about decisions being made locally. It is a new way of tailoring the services that Hyde Martlet delivers to those services that residents want. This Local Offer is an arrangement between residents and Hyde Martlet to do that.

The Local Offer will increase the accountability of Hyde Martlet, as residents will play an active part in setting, monitoring and scrutinising service standards.

New gas contractors appointed

We have moved to new gas contractors for Hyde Group properties in your area.

Chosen after a competitive procurement process the new companies will provide gas servicing and repairs to properties in London, Kent, and parts of Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire.

The decision to move to new contractors comes after persistent poor performance by the previous contractor, and came into effect on 29 March 2011.

If you experience any problems as we move to the new arrangements then please contact your local housing office for assistance.
