Julie has chaired The Hyde Group Board since 2004. Her professional background is in the health sector where she gained extensive experience both as a practitioner and chief executive. Prior to retirement, Julie was Chief Executive at West London Mental Health Trust. She is a non-executive director of New College, Worcester.
A qualified lawyer with extensive corporate finance and business experience, Nick Badman is Chair of the Centre for Entrepreneurship at Cass Business School in the City of London.
A qualified social worker by profession, Derrick has extensive experience of working with some of society’s most vulnerable people. A board member of Minster General Housing Association, he became Chair in 2004. Derrick led the discussions leading to the association joining The Hyde Group in 2006.
Liz is currently Chair of Hyde’s Audit Committee. She has significant experience as a non-executive director across a range of public sector and not-for-profit organisations including her current role as Chair of Bromley Primary Care Trust. A chartered accountant by profession she runs a small business specialising in small business start-ups.
Currently Chair of the Hydewide Residents Eye, Sharon’s background is in the consumer movement. An accountant by training, she is a non-executive director of Consumer Focus and of Sutton and Merton Primary Care Trust.
Baroness Falkner is the Liberal Democrat front bench spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice. Prior to becoming a Life Peer in 2004, Baroness Falkner held a significant number of political and policy roles including memberships of the Commons/Lords Joint Committee on Human Rights. She is also Chancellor of the University of Northampton.
Currently Chair of the Remuneration and Appointments Committee, and member of the Audit Committee, Janet is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounts, she is also a seasoned executive of the financial and banking sectors. A former director of a High Street Bank, Janet is also a trustee and vice chair for the YWCA England.
Brian is a chartered surveyor and has been a board member at Hyde for eight years. He also chairs Hyde Vale Limited, the Group’s open market Housing subsidiary. He is a former executive director of Capital and Counties plc, one of the countries largest property investment and development companies.
Pommy was a partner in Deloitte and Touche advising both public and private sector clients in Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) and Private Finance Initiatives (PFIs). He is a member of the Board of Chatham Historic Dockyard, the Port of London Authority, Christie Group Plc and British Waterways and Chairman of Master Ropemakers Ltd. He is also secretary to the Review Board for Government Contracts and he continues to act as a consultant at Deloitte.
A retired teacher with a keen awareness of housing’s impact on people, Val is a resident member of the Group Board and also serves on the Hydewide Residents Eye and Hydewide Residents Voice. She has also been a member of the Minster Board since November 2002 and is a member of the Minster Residents Forum.
