Steve White
Chief Executive Officer
Steve joined Hyde in April 2010 as the Chief Operating Officer before being appointed CEO in January 2011 and is responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation and ensuring the delivery of Hyde’s corporate plan.
Steve has over 20 years experience in senior management roles spanning large commercial organisations like T-Mobile and NatWest Bank as well as not-for-profit organisations like the Financial Ombudsman Service, The Law Society and the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Steve’s primary business focus has typically been in the fields of service delivery and delivering organisational change.
Phil Knight
Group Human Resources Director
Phil joined Hyde in December 2010 and was appointed Group HR Director in October 2011. He brings more than 20 years experience of leading HR teams and functions. His previous roles include being HR Director at Bupa, where he worked for 9 years in both the healthcare provision and funding areas of the organisation. Prior to Bupa, he established and led the organisation development function at Verizon for the EMEA region,
Phil began his HR career with the Royal Bank of Scotland Insurance Group to run their first insurance claims call centre. He subsequently moved into HR and established the Learning and Development function, where he initiated a number of innovative new approaches to people development that were subsequently adopted across the RBS Group.
In addition to organisation roles, Phil has worked as a coach supporting Ashridge Management College senior leadership programmes. He has also worked with organisations such as Channel 5, Kraft, Colt Telecom, GAB Robins, and Baxter Healthcare.
Jane Jenkinson
Group Business Development Director
Jane has a land management degree from Reading University and an INSEAD Masters in Business Administration and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. She comes to Hyde with a significant amount of commercial and property experience in both the private and public sectors. Her most recent role was Director of European Development at Harrah’s Entertainment, a major US corporation, responsible for developing large scale leisure resorts in Europe. Prior to this she was Head of New Business at Sainsbury’s. In her corporate development and strategy roles at the Rank Group and Oliver Wyman Management Consultants, she led merger and acquisition transactions, negotiated joint ventures and developed and implemented corporate strategies. Earlier in her career, Jane worked as a chartered surveyor, gaining knowledge of all aspects of the property sector, in particular planning and development and land acquisition. For the last 6 years she has been a non-executive director of Community Housing Association, a subsidiary of One Housing Group.
Tracy Allison
Group Director of Corporate Services
Tracy trained and qualified as a senior finance professional whilst working for international companies in the manufacturing, retail and logistics sector (including Roquette Freres, Canadian Pacific) and made the switch to the Housing Sector in 1996, working initially for Town & Country Housing and later moving to Origin Housing. As a Finance Director she has delivered solutions to support growth, to ensure long term business viability, to resolve regulatory and contractual disputes and worked closely with complex Board structures to strengthen governance and risk management. She has had extensive dealings with Regulators when delivering group restructures. Tracy has a track record of delivering business critical projects in complex organisations and working to improve service delivery and business transformation.
Simon Peacock
Group Finance Director
Simon joined the Hyde Group in 2009 as Director of Financial Services before his appointment as Group Finance Director in April 2011. His principal responsibilities are to oversee the Group’s financial strategy and stewardship. Simon brings significant financial and treasury experience to Hyde, having spent thirteen years working in the City. Eight years were spent at Singer & Friedlander Group PLC (a FTSE 250 listed banking and wealth management company), with the last four years spent as Director of Group Financial Services. Simon subsequently joined Rothschild (investment and corporate banking) as Group Controller and MF Global (broking) as Head of Finance – Europe. Simon is an accounting graduate and a Chartered Accountant.
Carol Carter
Group Director of Resident Services
Carol joined Hyde in July 2011 and is responsible for the delivery of services to residents. She has many years experience in the housing sector with a track record of success in driving organisational improvement and delivering high quality customer services, effective housing and property management, strong resident involvement and community investment; ensuring value for money and building strong external partnerships.
She has joined from Circle Housing Group, where she was Operations Director for London responsible for three Housing Association Group Partners and the Group’s Care and Support service as well as holding the Sustainable Communities, Customer Engagement and Diversity portfolios for the Group. Previously she was a Principal Consultant for Savills, Director of Housing at Hereward Housing, preceded by eight years in senior roles in housing management and community regeneration at Circle 33, and before that at various inner city and rural local authorities.
