Youth Plus

Youth Plus

Our Youth Plus work is all about helping our younger residents to increase their aspirations, skills, confidence and achievements. We do this through delivering a range of local projects for young people, working with schools, youth groups and voluntary sector partners - to find out what’s going on in your neighbourhood visit ‘My Local Area’ by selecting your county or typing in the postcode on the website homepage.

Through our Hyde Young Pride scheme we encourage our young residents to take part in a range of activities from sports and drama to extra tuition. We have found this increases skills, confidence and personal development. The scheme, designed for ages 16 and under, offers up to £200 to help pay for cultural, educational or sporting activities. For more information about our schemes for young people visit Young Hyde.

We also promote healthy home environments and family life for our younger residents through joint working with family and parenting projects. In many areas we are working with Childrens’ Centres, Schools and specialist family intervention projects bringing additional help to families to address challenges they face. We are also piloting a DVD library in Kent so parents can learn more about child development children of different ages, in their own space and time. For more information on any of these projects contact lindsay.wake@hyde-housing.co.uk

Our advice and guidance service New Directions, which helps resident in to training, volunteering or work, also works with residents aged 16 upwards.
